About Us
Timber Hill Health Centre is operated by Norwich Practices Ltd. under a contract with NHS Norfolk, the local Primary Care Trust, to provide NHS services.
Norwich Practices Ltd. is owned and operated by the GPs at fifteen local GP practices.. The company was set up because those local GPs felt they could provide more and better services to patients if they worked together.
Location and Parking
We are situated in the Mall Norwich on Level 4 close to the Timber Hill entrance. The nearest The Mall car park is the one accessed from Farmers Avenue. There is level access from that to the Health Centre. You can get one hours free parking in The Mall when visiting us by presenting you car park ticket for validation by our receptionist.
Services
1. Walk In Service
Our NHS Walk In Service may be accessed without charge by anyone entitled to NHS Services whether registered with us, another practice or not registered at all. Foreign nationals and residents can also be seen but there may be a charge. Full information is available in our Visitors Leaflet. To use the service you may simply walk in any time we are open. But we encourage patients to make an appointment to minimise your wait.
The main services we offer on a walk in basis are:
• Blood pressure checks
• Coughs, colds and flu-like symptoms
• Information on staying healthy and health promotion
• Minor cuts and wounds - dressings and care
• Muscle and joint injuries - strains and sprains
• Skin complaints - rashes, sunburn and headlice
• Stomach ache, indigestion, constipation, vomiting and diarrhoea
• Support for stopping smoking
• Treatment of minor infections
• Women's health problems, thrush and menstrual advice
Prescriptions are given for appropriate medication for these problems.
2. GP Services
NHS patients residing in Norwich and its immediate suburbs may register with us for GP services. We offer a full general practice service, including specialist clinics indicated on the following pages.
We aim to treat all our patients to the best standards, promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. Because we feel it is important you know who you are speaking to, our practice staff will always identify themselves on the telephone.
